EXPERIENCE

Dante is a lawyer and environmentalist with over 30 years’ experience serving worthy causes including solar energy, the environment, animal welfare, business advice, litigation, and advancement of the public interest.

Dante served in the NJ Attorney General’s Office for over 15 years where he rose to Sr. Deputy Attorney General in Charge of Litigation supervising over 550 lawyers on litigation matters and handling high-profile cases. He also served as an Assistant State Environmental Prosecutor and Deputy Attorney General on environmental matters, a Special Assistant in the Governor’s Office, Counselor and Legal Policy Advisor to the Commissioner of the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, and Executive Director of the NJ Highlands Council.

Dante has: personally handled complex commercial transactions specifically including multimillion-dollar solar deals; advised for-profit and non-profit corporations and acted as general counsel; won multimillion dollar verdicts and successfully represented defendants; and drafted and passed important legislation including the Highlands Act, solar energy bills and animal welfare bills.

Solar Energy: Dante is “Mr. Sustainable” and a pro-environmental lawyer. He lives in an off-grid, sustainable, solar home that he designed and built, has personally negotiated and drafted contracts for over 100 MW of photovoltaic solar projects, and served as General Counsel to a multi-million dollar solar design and construction company.

Environmental: Dante represents environmental groups (local and national) and individuals on environmental matters. As a Deputy Attorney General, Assistant State Environmental Prosecutor, Counselor and Legal Policy Adviser to the Commissioner of the NJDEP, and Executive Director of the Highlands Council, he enforced the state’s environmental laws (including wetlands, tidelands, pollution and solid waste) and handled regional planning and land use issues.

Animal Welfare: Dante represents animal welfare groups, including shelters, animal rescues, non-profits and individuals on animal-related issues including cruelty, search and seizure, non-profit formation, animal caps, licensing, dog bites, summonses and complaints. Dante has also served as Vice-Chair of the Governor’s Animal Welfare Task Force.

Business Advice: Dante provides business advice to corporations, non-profits and trade associations. He provides a full range of legal services  including formation, contracts, negotiation, advice, employment law and litigation. He also offers outsourced General Counsel services to handle all the legal needs of small and medium-sized business at a fraction of the cost of having an attorney on staff.

Litigation: Litigates all manner of matters from complex commercial disputes to non-profit issues to individual disputes.
